Kayhan Kalhor ist ein Virtuose der traditionellen persischen Stachelgeige Kamancheh und der Setar (Langhalslaute), ein renommierter, Grammy-prämierter Großmeister der Kamancheh, der durch seine vielfältige und internationale musikalische Zusammenarbeit die persische Musik global bekannt gemacht hat. Er ist weithin als einer der wichtigsten Botschafter iranischer Musik und Kultur anerkannt und einer der größten Stars und kreativsten Köpfe der iranischen Musikszene.

Yo-Yo Ma, Kalhor und das Silk Road Ensemble gewannen 2016 mit ihrem Album „The Music of Stranger“ den Grammy als „Bestes Weltmusikalbum“.  Der renommierte WOMEX Artist Award 2019 wurde im Oktober an Kayhan Kalhor verliehen. „Der Preis ist eine Anerkennung der reichen Kultur meines Heimatlandes Iran und einer zeitlosen persischen Kunst, die auf der ganzen Welt gedeiht und geliebt wird. Wenn Kräfte in der Welt auftauchen, die nach Spaltung streben, nach Grenzen und Intoleranz, bringt Musik uns zusammen und erinnert uns an unsere gemeinsame Menschlichkeit.“

Behnam Samani ist einer der Gründer der Perkussionsgruppe Zarbang. Er kombiniert eine erstaunliche Vielfalt von Rhythmen mit vielfarbigen Klangelementen. Diese Klänge haben ihre Wurzeln in der klassischen persischen Musik, öffnen sich aber Einflüssen anderer Kulturen und ermöglichen eine große Bandbreite musikalischen Ausdrucks. Er entlockt der Tombak, der von ihm entwickelten Zarbang Udu und der mystischen Rahmentrommel Daf überraschende neue Klänge und Melodien. Er hat mit den bekanntesten iranischen Musikern zusammengearbeitet, wie F. Paewar, M. Zarif und H. Alisadeh. Mit dem Dastan Ensemble war er auf Tournee in den USA, Kanada, Großbritannien und Brasilien. Als Duo gehen Kalhor und Samani auf Europatour 2023.

Kiya Tabassian, der Setar-Virtuose und gefeierte Komponist, hat sich mit seinem Ensemble Constantinople und als Solist einen privilegierten Platz in der internationalen Musikszene erobert. Mit seinen gefeierten interkulturellen musikalischen Begegnungen reist er über die fünf Kontinente, um seine Kreationen und seine Musik auf den Bühnen der ganzen Welt zu präsentieren. Als Komponist, Performer und Improvisator hat er zu vielen Projekten beigetragen, zum Beispiel hat er mit dem Montreal Symphonic Orchestra, dem CBC und dem Nouvel Ensemble Moderne zusammengearbeitet. Von 2002 bis 2005 war er als Mitglied einer Forschungsgruppe zur Geschichte und zum Repertoire mediterraner Musik aktiv, er war am internationalen Projekt MediMuses beteiligt und hat an mehreren Veröffentlichungs- und Aufnahmeprojekten mitgewirkt. Seit 2009 spielt er auch im Atlas-Ensemble (Niederlande) und trug als Tutor zur Atlas Academy bei, einem Projekt mit dem Ziel zeitgenössische Musik und mündliche Überlieferungen miteinander zu verbinden.

Kayhan Kalhor is a virtuoso of the traditional Persian Kamancheh fiddle and setar (long-necked lute), Kayhan Kalhor is a renowned, Grammy-winning grandmaster of the Kamancheh, who has brought Persian music to global attention through his diverse and international musical collaborations. Widely recognized as one of the most important ambassadors of Iranian music and culture, he is one of the biggest stars and most creative minds on the Iranian music scene.
yo yo-Ma, Kalhor and the Silk Road Ensemble won 2016 with their album „The Music of Stranger“ won the Grammy for „Best World Music Album“. Behnam Samani is one of the founders of the percussion group Zarbang. He combines an amazing variety of rhythms with multicolored sound elements. These sounds have their roots in classical Persian music, but are open to influences from other cultures and enable a wide range of musical expression. He elicits surprising new sounds and melodies from the tombak, the zarbang udu he developed and the mystical frame drum daf. He has collaborated with the most famous Iranian musicians such as F.Paewar, M.Zarif and H. Alisadeh. He has toured the USA, Canada, Great Britain and Brazil with the Dastan Ensemble. As a duo, Kalhor and Samani will go on a European tour in 2023.

Kiya Tabassian, Setar virtuoso and acclaimed composer, Kiya Tabassian has carved out a privileged place on the international music scene with his ensemble Constantinople and as a soloist. With his celebrated cross-cultural musical encounters, he travels across the five continents to present his creations and his music on stages all over the world. He has contributed to many eclectic projects as a composer, performer and improviser. To cite a few, he has collaborated with the Montreal Symphonic Orchestra, the CBC, the Nouvel Ensemble Moderne. He has actively participated in the international project MediMuses from 2002 to 2005, as a member of a research group on the history and the repertoire of Mediterranean music and acted as contributor to several publishing and recording projects. He also intervened in the Atlas ensemble (Netherlands) since 2009 and contributed to the Atlas Academy as a tutor, a double project aimed at conjoining contemporary music and oral traditions together.
